I am a firm believer that the weather dictates how my mood should be, and today I am happy as a clam! It is absolutely beautiful today, and the rest of this week its only supposed to get better and better! I am completely thrilled!
And since it's so gorgeous out, I am just about to run out the door to snap a few photos in the cemetery, then do a teensy bit of shopping before my shift tonight O:-) .. I am actually planning on returning the dress I am wearing above, along with a Jason Wu dress that the tag reads small, but fits more like a large.. I just can't wear this leopard bodycon without thinking Flinstones, it's got to be the print or something, I initially bought it thinking it was such a cute retro number, but the more I wear it and think about it I just can't stop thinking Wilma or Pebbels,
But before I head out, as I was taking these photos the other day, I saw about 15 deer! They just came out of the woods and were playing in the field across the street from the cemetery I was in! It was incredible, cars were whipping by rushing home and they were in plain sight, but they just frolicked about with their white tails up, not a care in the world. Seeing them interact with each other in their natural habitat was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. I wish I could have taken better photos, but I was in such awe that I snapped a few photos very quickly in case they were just passing through, but no, they stayed and played for about 10 minutes, then they were off into the woods again.. I wonder if these are the same group of deer who are in my yard late at night/in the early mornings.. hmm, either way, it was a beautiful thing to experience.

I am the weirdo who goes and hangs out in cemeteries by herself. Here's the honest to god proof.. I used to hang out here all the time when I was in high school, me and my friends would 'sneak out' (my parents are very cool so they didn't care, but we liked to pretend they'd be mad if they knew..) late at night and freak ourselves out while we did a loop around the graveyard. It's definitely been years since I've been back, I almost forgot such a pretty location (kind of morbid, no?) was a 20 second drive from my house..

I had the entire day off yesterday and was planning on spending it how I normally spend my days off, unshowered, unmade-up, and creating a permanent divot in the couch cushions.. But I decided I should go get myself all made up and take photos in the cemetery. It may be difficult to tell considering my updating this blog has been so spotty lately, but I'm wearing some new items that have never been seen before on INDIE elise! I've wanted the perfect shirt dress for a long, long while. This isn't quite it, but it's pretty lovely in itself. And a disclaimer here; I do wear pants when ever I have worn this shirt-tunic. It's definitely cutting it a little too close to hoochie.. But the tights and jewelry are new as well! I am madly in love with the earrings, I'm not sure they are visible in any of the pictures, but I can definitely promise you you'll be seeing them again, and a lot. They have definitely worked their way into my 'favorites' collection.

But now I must go get myself ready for work tonight.. I've only ever worked one night shift so far, so I am pretty excited to close the store tonight! And I ended up picking up a 7 hour shift tomorrow morning, so yay more money! $$$ :) Have an excellent hump day, everyone!

Highlight of my day (yesterday) - finding this old pair of skinny jeans tucked away at the very bottom of my jeans drawer that I bought my freshmen year of high school, never having been able to fit into them before (low rise but the waist does not give) Decided to put them on for shits and giggles, only to discover they fit! Finally! They're a bit wrinkly, but they had to be worn anyways in celebration of the happy occasion. Caitlin 1 Jeans 0.

I think I am going to shoot majority of my pictures in this location from now on, it's technically on my neighbors property, but the area where I climb over the stone wall and down the bank is out of sight from their house, so I should be good as long as they don't decide to take a stroll one sunny afternoon.. Talk about awkward, especially considering these are neighbors who I've never met/spoken to before. Lets hope they're nice because the newest location of my pictures depends on it!

Anyways, I just worked a long 8 hour day today, the stores grand opening (Kohls) is a mere 8 days from now, so everyone was running around the store looking like chickens with their heads cut off. Fortunately for me, it meant the day flew right by me and my 8 hour shift felt more like mere minutes.. So thats good I guess! But now I must run to Fed Ex with my Benjamin to help him do some work for his company, which means we'll be here for probably the next two or three hours.. le sigh.. BUT, he is rewarding me by taking me to my favorite place to grab some awesome mexican, so there's a silver lining there! Unfortunately though, I have a feeling I am going to be in zombie mode within the hour, which sucks considering I have another 8 hour day ahead of me tomorrow and I'm stuck here at Fed Ex helping him.. Pray for me here people! I've got a busy day/night and another day/night ahead of me.. I'm already looking forward to Thursday which is my day off so I can sleep til 2pm just like the good 'ol days.. ahh...

I apologize greatly for becoming the blogger who says she's going to share certain content, then doesn't follow through with it.. This past weekend I was bumming pretty hard and neglecting my blog big time. My boyfriend and I's 6 year anniversary was Sunday (February 19th), earlier that week we were talking and deciding on how we wanted to spend it together, we decided a trip somewhere in New England would be nice so we were just trying to decide where we'd go exactly, then on Wednesday night or Thursday night (I can't quite remember exactly) we got the bad news that his new job needed him for the weekend.. He works for an up and coming band based out of Boston and they booked two shows very last minute, one in Hartford, CT on Saturday and one in Long Island on Sunday.. So I had to let him go work while I sat on the couch feeling depressed and having no energy to do a thing.. Which clearly meant no photos were edited and no entries were prepared..
But, I have him back in my grasp now, for a short while anyways, so I decided to suck it up and do some editing and writing. We're planning on taking our trip sometime soon, probably just the first full weekend we both have available, but I may have to request some time off of work if nothings working out for us.. He's going to be hitting the road on March 10th touring the US until mid April and then immediately following that tour flying over to Europe and the UK.
I am so proud of him for landing a job in this industry, although it isn't him on stage which I know he'd certainly prefer, he's been touring with his own band for years and years now and paying his dues, and it's incredible he's been recognized for it and rewarded with a hefty salary. He's the most hardworking and deserving human on this planet, and I know at times he feels like he's abandoning his band and throwing all the hard work away, he's such a charming, sweet boy, whose going to meet the best connections in the business which will eventually help him out in the long run. I am a strong believer of karma, and this guy deserves the greatest things the world has to offer.
If you read this Ben, chin up sweetheart, you're not abandoning your music, and good things will come your way. Simply put, success is what you deserve, and karma will bring it your way, for sure. I love you to the moon and back, Benji <3

RIP

My Guinea Pig, Wednesday, died Monday evening after her vet visit. I'm pretty upset and in shock, she got sick so suddenly and died way to young.


RIP, my sweet sweet girl. :'(

Yesterday, Mother Nature gave us 'Shire folk some sunshine and temperatures nearing 50 degree's, I will never quite understand New Hampshire and it's bipolar seasons.. And I feel like a total brat saying this but I was incredibly happy to see the snow and ice begin melting away, I couldn't stop smiling, and being able to step foot outside my front door without nearly being blown away by freezing winds was a breath of fresh air, literally.

I have been reaching for this shirt almost every day since I purchased it, I am just so in love, which is rather surprising considering it was sort of an impulse buy since it was less than $5. But I really need to make sure I don't step foot into Pacsun for the next few months, their awesome sale they have going on is going to be the death of me, my wallet, and my wardrobe.. I don't want to be one of those chicks dripping head to toe wearing only Pacsun! Where's the fun in that?!

But, I am still deciding upon whether or not to sell these shoes, so hold tight and I will give you the final verdict in a few short days! Promise! But before I wrap this thing up, I wanted to point out my necklace! How awesome is it?! I bought it when I was in 7th grade attending this girls birthday party which was held at King Richard's Renaissance Faire in Massachusetts. Its a little nerdy, and I know this because one time when I was working at Staples, all the geeky boys complimented me on it saying it reminded them of something from Dungeons and Dragons or what have you.. It's kind of funny how quartz crystal necklaces are all the rage now! If only I had foreseen the trend back then and started making them when I was in 7th grade, I'd be loaded right no!... well, maybe..

Vintage Photographs.

While at my grandmothers house on Christmas Day we pulled out a few boxes containing old memories that had been tucked away for years and years. In them we found my Grandmothers Prom Dress, some pictures of her in her childhood, and a few photos that used to hang around her house that had been put away and forgotten to be put back up.

And with that being said, I share with you my two favorite portraits from within that box. I am unsure of their age here, but thats my Grandmother, Agnes, and my Grandfather, Raymond. I am so in love with these, I recall seeing them hanging in my Grandparents bedroom wall when I was very young and used to sleep over nearly every weekend. I am especially thrilled about having this terribly dusty photo-of-a-photo of my Grandfather. He passed away when I was in 7th grade, the first ever death of a close relative I've ever experienced, so it was especially difficult for me.. Since that time I only have a small collection of photos of he and I from my childhood, but you can barely make out his face (the not so great thing about cheap disposable cameras!) so I am very pleased to have this saved to my hard drive. I am also amazed by the fact that he looks the exact same here in the photo I've shared, as he did in his old age. I hope those gene's carry over to me, oh how I would love to age as beautifully as he did. And I am not even kidding! At 70 he looked precisely as he does in this portrait, maybe with a few wrinkles around his eyes, but he did not change one bit. I swear!
