Ben and I had tickets to see David Spade's stand-up routine in Boston last night. I am definitely unfamiliar with his career, all I can really say I have seen and enjoyed him in is Tommy boy, 8 simple rules for dating my teenage daughter, and of course the classic, Joe Dirt. His stand-up ended up being absolutely hilarious, I left the show with my stomach in pain from laughing so much and my cheeks hurting from sporting a constant smile all throughout. I have to give a big thank you to Bens mom, who gets us tickets to a performance/event each year for Christmas. And each year I am never familiar with the act/event, and each year I end up loving what I had just seen and being pleasantly surprised. I have decided she knows me better than I do, and that I should stop being so critical and to start being totally pumped about it even if I have no idea what I am about to see! Because with her track record thus far, everything's been totally fantastic! I am already looking forwards to next years event as a matter of fact!
But I must cut this short now, Its nearing 8am which by that time I must be fully ready and in a vehicle headed back into Boston for another show.. This afternoon Ben's band is playing with one of our favorite bands, Patent Pending. So since it's a mid-day show, load-in is pretty early so we've got to be leaving very shortly! That package I mentioned before here, arrived almost immediately after I wrote that entry believe it or not.. I just haven't had the chance to share with you what it was because these flats literally have not left my feet since the moment they arrived.. But and if you haven't already cheated and checked out my tumblr or instagram account (Seasickness), I am so excited to share with you it's contents (drum roll please).. a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Martini Spike's! eeeek! My JC cherry has been popped! I have been lusting for these since I first saw them back in October, but they've been sold out everywhere in every size for months now. It wasn't until one late night a few weeks back that I got my email from Solestruck letting me know they've been replenished in every size and color imaginable, I immediately jumped from the couch, ran upstairs, and woke my sleeping boyfriend to let him know so he could order them that moment incase they were to fly off the shelf overnight.. I just couldn't risk it and take that chance!

So you guys better prepare yourselves, I have a feeling majority of my outfits are going to involve these beauties. I am in serious love with them, and although they're a smidgen on the tight side, I'm willing to suck it up and take the pain to break them in because there is no way in hell they're being sent back. My heart is happy and they're here to stay.

Oh and if you're reading this thinking I am a brat for making my boyfriend buy me these, he owed me a Christmas present still :) So these are my very belated Christmas gift from him. Thank you, Benny!

Matte About You

After weeks of searching for it, I was finally able to get my hands on Essie's "Matte About You" matte finishing top coat! I've been keeping my eyes peeled every time I am in Ulta or Sephora for matte polish since I first heard of it earlier last year, but last month I read about Essie's matte top coat and have been on the look out for it ever since. It's been sold out everywhere! But I was fortunate enough to find it in a "Hair Cosmopolitan," and purchase it for $6.25! Ulta was selling it for $10, although always out of stock, so I was even more thrilled about getting it for nearly half the cost! I love that I have options here and it's not just a specific colored matte polish.. But now comes the difficult part of choosing what color I should paint my nails to try it on first!
PS- I also wanted to warn you guys not to buy OPI's "Nail Envy" matte top coat, I almost bought it when I couldn't find Essie's Matte Finisher anywhere, but thankfully a store employee warned me that although it says Matte on the box, the OPI one did not dry matte, it dried glossy and she had no idea why it said matte on the box. And it was $16.95, so she saved me more than $10! Thank god she was there to stop me! So just a forewarning incase you too are having a tough time finding Essie's Matte Topcoat..

Santa Baby

I was in total shock when I realized Christmas is only but a week away! These last few months have completely flown by me without me realizing how close we're getting to 2011's end. And although 2011 gave me many wonderful memories and terrific moments, it also gave my family and I many stressful months, so I am completely ready to bid farewell to 2011 and welcome 2012 with wide open arms! I am also expecting 2012 has an awesome job waiting for me, I mean, thats the reason why I haven't been able to find one yet, right? 2011 was a rough year and 2012 will be my best one yet? Yeah, thats what i'm thinking!

These are my materialistic wants and needs this Christmas. I'm hoping to find at least one of them waiting for me underneath the tree this year. Most of the items on my list I have been lusting over for several years now so hopefully the streak can end and I'll finally be able to call a few of these my very own! What are you guys asking for?
