Package from Sephora.

I got a package that I have been super eager about receiving! It came to me last week so I am about a week into using it, so expect a review of the product(s) very soon. Ben ordered this for me as a belated Valentines Day gift which is just too sweet :) I've been really wanting to try the Vitamin E line out ever since I watched Essie Button's videos where she raves about this line constantly, so when Ben was asking me what I may have wanted for V-Day, this immediately popped into my head and I began doing my research on it.. I ended up ordering from Sephora versus The Body Shop and got some nice samplers with it! I must head off to work now, but I just wanted to share what I got! Thanks again Ben! <3

Matte About You

After weeks of searching for it, I was finally able to get my hands on Essie's "Matte About You" matte finishing top coat! I've been keeping my eyes peeled every time I am in Ulta or Sephora for matte polish since I first heard of it earlier last year, but last month I read about Essie's matte top coat and have been on the look out for it ever since. It's been sold out everywhere! But I was fortunate enough to find it in a "Hair Cosmopolitan," and purchase it for $6.25! Ulta was selling it for $10, although always out of stock, so I was even more thrilled about getting it for nearly half the cost! I love that I have options here and it's not just a specific colored matte polish.. But now comes the difficult part of choosing what color I should paint my nails to try it on first!
PS- I also wanted to warn you guys not to buy OPI's "Nail Envy" matte top coat, I almost bought it when I couldn't find Essie's Matte Finisher anywhere, but thankfully a store employee warned me that although it says Matte on the box, the OPI one did not dry matte, it dried glossy and she had no idea why it said matte on the box. And it was $16.95, so she saved me more than $10! Thank god she was there to stop me! So just a forewarning incase you too are having a tough time finding Essie's Matte Topcoat..

I've been contemplating selling these shoes for a long time now. I purchased them well over a year ago from asos because I thought they were so gorgeous and different and I knew I wouldn't see another girl wearing the same exact shoe as me. But because they are european sized and half sizes weren't available, I decided slightly bigger would be better then cramming myself into a slightly smaller fitting shoe. Boy was I wrong..

Since buying them they've been sitting looking pretty on a bookshelf, but thats about it. I only slip them on every so often to admire them, but walking in them is an absolute  impossible task for me which really bums me out.. I had hoped that because of the design of these shoes, the strap would hold me in place considering they were a half size to big, but that isn't the issue at all, because they're quite high, I stand on my tippy toes and the slope crams me into the front so the heel of my foot isn't on the heel of the shoe, thus making walking in these babies completely impossible.

I am going to sleep on it though, to think more of whether or not I should part ways with them or not. Give me a few days to decide and I'll let you know where to buy them if I decide to sell. Until then, hype my latest look on Lookbook please!

Don't let the sunshine and forced smiles confuse you, it was cold out today. I should have just waited and shared this new shirt with you guys another day, but I was just to damn excited about it and couldn't wait. I apologize for the crap photos, I hate how they're so blown out and quickly, but sloppily, edited. I was not expecting it to be as windy as it was or as cold, so Ben and I sat out there for 15 minutes while I battled my hair and tried to keep my shirt down, pretty unsuccessful photo shoot if you ask me. This shirt is so flowy and boxy that it's hard to photograph without it making me look fat, and with the high winds we were having these were the few photos where I didn't look morbidly obese.. Boo, maybe next time..

Something New

I've been pretty terrible about keeping up with showing you guys my new purchases. I know I haven't been posting on this blog for very long now so you haven't quite caught on to whats old and whats new yet, but many of my new items that I say "I am going to share with you what I got tomorrow! Stay tuned!" end up sneaking into many of the looks I have shared so I don't really see the point in photographing that individual item when it's already been 'revealed', ya know?

So I decided since I have certain articles of clothing already photographed and edited, to maybe start sharing with you each 'new' thing one by one on it's own. I hope you don't mind? I know haul entries are much more fun and visually appealing, but you gotta bare with me here people! I am so scatter brained I end up putting these things off forever and making myself seem like a liar..

So here is one of my most recent buys, I have been searching for something like this for months now and I am thrilled I was able to come across this top at Forever 21 which almost always beats the price of anyone around. It is most certainly going to become a staple piece in my wardrobe, I can tell you that much..

Sale Shopping

You know those certain stores we rarely buy from but we're still on their weekly mailing list just so we get their coupons and special sales in the off chance that we'll come across something we like AND have a coupon to use on that said item? Well Express is one of those stores for me. Don't get me wrong, I love their take on how a workplace women should dress. It's sophisticated yet sexy; they use great materials and everything is very fitted to show off the female figure without making the customer look like the office whore. It's exactly how I'd dress if I were working a job where business/business casual was the dress code.

I have shopped there plenty of times and everything I have purchased still looks brand new even after months and months of wear (Tip! If you're looking for a pair of skinny jeans to show off your lady curves AND give you the perfect butt, there jeans are the route to go. They're fairly expensive but wait for their 'buy one get one 1/2 off' sales. I promise you you won't regret the purchase!) but I have realized over time that they aren't necessarily targeting my body type. I have found that even their size 0 dresses sag off me and just look like I'm wearing a very pretty potato sack, that their jackets of all sizes make me appear to be super wide even with a sash, and most of their blazers give me that manly broad shoulder look but remain stiff at the waist so I look like a small child playing dress up in my mothers business clothes.

I've learned I can't fall in love with what I see on their website and order it, I must go in store to try it on. So ladies, if you're 5'4 1/2 and think you look about my size, I'd advise you to do the same! But anyways, I've been madly inlove with these wedges since black friday, which was when I was in store trying on that star shirt I just had to have. The deal then was 40% off the $59.90 price tag, but I am strictly a 6.5 and express doesn't make half sizes, so I was trying to decide if I wanted to go too tight or too loose.. In the end I clearly decided to just part ways and spend my money elsewhere.. Since then I have gone in several times trying to justify the purchase, but every time my conscience is right there with me telling me no way.

Yesterday before going to the mall with my sister I happened to get one of their emails so I decided to check the site to see if I wanted to go in trying to find anything specific. I found the wedges online for $29.99 on sale PLUS an additional 40% off, I was ecstatic, totally willing to buy them even with the risk of me completely annihilating my feet and never managing to wear them past the front door. My excitement was quickly crushed however when I clicked on them and they were listed as sold out everywhere. Bummed, but willing to carry on with life, so I went on my merry way to go on a shopping spree with my sister.

I have a few other items from different places that I am going to share with you later, but I dragged my sister into Express since the purpose of the shopping trip was to find her nice, all black bottoms that she can wear to beauty school since jeans/anything above the knee isn't allowed. We were rummaging through the sale bins for her when I came across the wedges at the very bottom! Only a size 6 and 8 were left, and I am so happy I found this particular size 6, because it seems like someone with a much wider foot crammed these on and stretched out the leather making them actually very comfortable. I don't think I've been this excited over a pair of shoes in a long time, and the purse is just the icing on the cake. So if you're looking for a pretty good sale with nothing specific in mind, I would definitely suggest checking out Express!

Can you believe I got three pairs of these shorts for $3 a piece?! I previously mentioned here that I have been doing quite a bit of shopping lately. I've really been burning through my wad of Christmas cash but I've mostly been sale shopping so more quantity AND more bills are remaining in my wallet. Sweet!

Pacsun had an amazing deal when Ben and I went in a few days ago, buy 3 or more items with a blue sticker on the tag and get them all for 70% off! And it wasn't the sort of sale where most sizes are sold out and only the ugly colors of each item are left over, it was nearly everything from their fall/winter line, so even items that just got shipped to their store a week ago that were winter fashion got a blue sticker slapped on it. Ben bought himself 6 things for $40 which is jaw dropping because he never buys himself clothes ever. But I made out even better than he did and also got 6 things but for $30! I am so happy, especially because I've been specifically surfing my usual sites for a pair of shorts exactly like the ones I'm wearing, and I scored three different colored pairs for $9 total! I bet you couldn't manage that anywhere else. And if you do, be sure to let me know so I can bow down before you. ;)

I actually felt too dressy walking out the door in this yesterday, but I stuck to my guns and damn am I glad I did, I received so many compliments and polite (not creepy) stares and smiles from complete strangers. It really made my day!

I've only ever worn this skirt twice maybe in the years time that I've owned it. I have a love hate relationship with this article of clothing, it's that certain shade of yellow that I'm a total sucker for and keep buying, but it is so thin and it wrinkles within the first five minutes of wearing it! Absolutely drive me insane, BUT I have not worn it since the spring/summer so I decided to overlook it's downfalls and slip it on for yesterdays shopping spree. I have also owned these saddle shoes for more than a year, can you tell that I've probably only worn these once or twice by how clean and almost new they look? I am a compulsive shopping, no doubt about it.. But in my defense, the last time (first time) I wore these shoes they gave me the worst blisters I've ever experienced in my entire life, so I've been pretty bitter towards this pair for many many months and yesterday for some strange reason I decided to give them a second chance.. and I'll have you know, it was a success! No blisters whatsoever, and my feet weren't even the slightest bit sore! I am a very happy girl, and I'm quite pleased to finally be able to induct these into my 'shoes I frequently wear' circle.

But quickly I'd also like to add in that yesterday Ben and I did a lot of shopping. Shopped some awesome sales too, so be prepared for that haul entry in the very near future! After that we went out to dinner then came home and watched a movie on netflix (Ben reactivated it! Hallelujah!). Tomorrow we're doing just about the same thing, only I'll probably apply to a few places here and there in between stores (still jobless....) and dinner will instead be at Ben's parents house since his older brother is flying back to California where he lives. But have you guys been doing any after Christmas shopping with gift money? Find anything good in the sales sections? For me the after Christmas sales have been wonderful! I'm so excited to show you guys what I got, but you'll have to sit tight for now ;) It will be posted within the next couple of days, promise!

New Purchases.

So a few days ago I mentioned I had done a little bit of shopping and to keep an eye our for a teeny tiny haul blog entry detailing everything purchased from it. I had originally planned sharing it with you after I had shared my Christmas gifts, a few outfit of the day blog posts, and probably also after I photographed my new years attire, but I've done nothing other than sit on the couch in my pajamas so far this new year, and my Christmas gifts are also scattered all over my house as well as some items being in my dirty laundry bin, so as usual, things didn't quite go according to plan so I'll have to share with you my buys from a few days ago first instead.
